Two months ago, GASTI Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH in Schwäbisch Hall was pleased to receive a major order from South Korea.
In May 2022 the well-known manufacturer Yakult ordered a high-performance cup filling and sealing machine CONTITHERM 162 for filling stirred yoghurt. The machine can stack, clean, fill and seal 672 yoghurt cups/min. (40,300 cups/h).
Numerous testing and inspection stations ensure faultless and hygienic production of the premium product. The line is equipped with an additional end-of-line packaging system that packs the products ready for dispatch in environmentally friendly reusable transport trays.
The customer has already been operating several GASTI lines for many years.
“We are very pleased that we were once again able to convince our South Korean customer of the reliability and performance of GASTI machines and that we were able to prevail against strong competitors,” says GASTI Managing Director Berthold Burgmeier.
In addition to the convincing machine concept, the wide range of services offered, with a local service centre in Asia, was also a decisive factor in the awarding of the contract.
Only a few weeks later, one of Germany’s largest dairies placed another major order with the long-established company for the production of a high-performance packaging line.
On the filling and closing machine DOGASEPTIC 82P, cups of 125 and 200g are processed under sterile conditions at a rate of up to 50 cycles per minute, which corresponds to 24,000 cups/hour. Both – the cups and the lid – are sterilised germ-free using a special system.
The seal-free precision fillers developed by GASTI guarantee a filling accuracy of 0.4% of the filling volume. Before the products are transferred to the final packaging line, each cup is checked for leaks by a patented system. The fully integrated end-of-line packaging system then takes over the inspected cups and places them in a 4×5 formation directly into the sales trays.
“The export rate at GASTI has been as high as 100% in recent years. It is all the more gratifying that a well-known German dairy placed the order with us,” says Berthold Burgmeier.
In terms of sustainability, both machines are already prepared for processing environmentally friendly packaging materials such as recycled PET (rPET) or cardboard cups. Thus, the customers are very well prepared for upcoming material changes.
